Plants
Plants are found all across worlds and may grow from certain block types given various conditions. Most can be harvested for use, and different biomes generally have distinct plant life.
Trees
Trees are naturally generated background objects that can be shaken or chopped with any axe, and new trees can be grown using Acorns. Spirit Classic adds 5 new types of trees: Stargrass trees which grow on Stargrass and drop normal Wood, Elderbark trees which grow on Briar grass and drop Elderbark, Duskwood and Duskwood Palm trees (Normal variant grows on Spirit grass and Palm variant grows on Spirit Sand) and both variants drop Duskwood, and Spooky trees which grow on Spooky grass and drop Spooky Wood.
Boreal trees have a 1/12 (8.33%) chance to drop 1-3 Ice Berries. Mushroom trees have a 1/5 (20%) chance to drop 1-4 Glowroot. Palm trees that are within 200 blocks of the edge of the world have a 1/6 (16.67%) chance to drop 5-8 Coconuts, and a 1/3 (33.33%) chance to spawn a Coconut Slime if none already exist.
Shaking
Shaking occurs when a player hits the trunk or branches of a tree with an axe or chainsaw, but does not fully cut it down. Shaking a tree has a chance to drop an item, or spawn an enemy or critter from the tree.

Hanging Chimes |
Vines are plants that grow downward from blocks. They block light but do not impede movement and can easily be destroyed with nearly any weapon or tool. Destroying a vine tile also destroys all tiles of the vine below it. Destroying the topmost tile or mining the block the vine hangs from will destroy it entirely. Vines can only grow from blocks that are not sloped on their underside.
Spirit Classic currently adds two new types of vines:
- Briar Vines, which grow from Briar grass in the The Briar and Underground Briar. They glow yellow which brightens and dimmers naturally but do not provide any natural light.
- Hanging Chimes, which grow from Pearlstone Blocks in the Underground Hallow. They glow pink which brightens and dimmers naturally and emits a faint amount of pink light. When the player passes through them, they will randomly emit a chime sound. They also have a chance to drop Crystal Shards and a very rare chance to drop the Crystal Windchimes when broken.
If the player has the Guide to Plant Fiber Cordage equipped, it will allow them to collect Vine Ropes from Briar vines.
