The Undead Warlock is a Pre-Hardmode enemy that spawns on the Surface during the night. It slowly walks towards the player in attempt to deal contact damage. Every few seconds, it will stop in place and perform a unique attack above itself where it summons 3 particle-emitting purple crystals which form in the shape of a triangle and slowly rotate in a clockwise direction. While preforming this attack, pink letter projectiles will start spawning in the middle which are surrounded with a circle of particles. After a brief moment, the letters will launch towards the player one by one up to 5 times. The letters emit a visual green circle above them after being launched which have an afterimage effect and explode upon hitting the player or a tile.
While the Undead Warlock is performing its attack, nearby enemies within a 25-tile radius will cause the purple crystals to fire a green beam which connects to the enemy, causing the enemy to become enchanted, glowing green with a pulsating-like effect. While enchanted, the enemy is granted +5-life regeneration, allowing them to rapidly regenerate their health as long as they are not taking damage such as from a damaging debuff. The effect lasts for an infinite duration until the enemy is killed. The crystals will only focus on the enchanted enemy and other enemies near the crystals will not become enchanted unless the enchanted enemy is out of reach with the crystals.
Notes
- The crystals will not enchant other Undead Warlocks or bosses.
- The crystals will also not enchant enemies that deal no contact damage.
