The Thorny Rod is a Pre-Hardmode tool that is found in Briar Chests in the Underground Briar and obtained from Thorny and Thistle Crates. When used, it swings like a broadsword and functions similarly to the Staff of Regrowth. When used on Dirt Blocks, it will plant Briar grass, without the need for Briar Grass Seeds.

Its best modifier is Light for harvesting purposes and Legendary for combat purposes.
