Spirit Mod 1.5 ports the mod over to tmodloader 1.4.4. This update includes several visual reworks to Glyphs, most weapons and accessories, resprites, various new content, as well as several bug fixes and minor changes.

Features/Content

Glyph Reworks

  • Glyphs are now applied by right-clicking on a valid item while holding a Glyph.
  • Items can no longer benefit from reforge prefixes while a Glyph is applied.
  • Items with Glyphs applied now use custom prefix text.
  • Any Glyph can now be sold back for blank glyphs.
  • Most Glyph effects can no longer be activated by passive or low-value NPCs.
  • All glyph effects reworked; brand new effects explained below:
  • Frost Glyph: Item gains Freezing
    • Attacks build ice on enemies, slowing them down.
  • Sanguine Glyph: Items gain Leeching
    • Attacking provides a strong life regeneration buff.
    • 10% damage penalty
  • Radiant Glyph: Items gain Radiant
    • Not attacking while holding this weapon causes your weapon to be charged with radiant energy, increasing the damage by 250% on its next attack.
  • Zephyr Glyph: Item gains Billowed
    • Chance for attacks to send forward a damaging gust of wind that pushes enemies away with extreme force. Projectiles that trigger this effect travel at double velocity.
  • Unholy Glyph: Item gains Cursed
    • Enemies killed by this weapon erupt into fiery phantoms, which fly around for a moment before hunting anything near them and exploding.
  • Bee Glyph: Item gains Honeyed
  • Attacks release bees
    • Killing enemies with this weapon grants Honeyed.
  • Veil Glyph: Item gain Guarding
    • Hitting with this weapon gradually builds a defensive veil around you.
  • Blaze Glyph: Item gains Blazing
    • Using this weapon causes DoT to yourself but causes your attacks to have +25% damage and 10% critical strike chance.
  • Void Glyph: Item gains Null
    • Hits with this weapon have a chance to inflict stacks of void collapse.
  • Rage Glyph: Item gains Frenzied
    • Excess damage on kills is stored for the next attack using this weapon.
  • Phase Glyph: Item gains Temporal
    • Your weapons deal increased damage the faster you move but decreases if you are not moving quickly.
    • Consecutive hits grant short bursts of speed.

Minor Changes

  • Added animations for most Spirit pets on the player select screen.
  • Added Adventurer line that refers to the new pins.
  • Most items in the mod now stack to 9999.
  • Made Gold Lumoth a golden critter on the Lifeform Analyzer.
  • Updated Gambler lootbox AI and adjusted coin drop amounts.
  • Simplified Brine Barrage AI.
  • Adjusted Packing Crate spawn rates again.
  • Added coin drops to Glitterfly (30s), R'lyehian (1g), Lernean Hydra (1g per head), Spirit Skull (10s), and Furnace Maw (20s)
  • Removed coin drops from Soul Orb.
  • Updated Beneath the Waves quest to contain an additional objective prompting players to interact with hydrothermal vents and retrieve sulfur deposits.
  • Made Funny Firework auto reusable and updated projectile behavior.
  • Slightly increased the range of projectiles that Tim's Scroll of Fumbling can randomly fire.
  • Tweaked the behavior and visuals of Terravolver and Shadeblaster projectiles.
  • Iokheira marks now last twice as long, but only one can be placed-per player.
  • Added equipped sprites for Tim's Scroll of Fumbling, Unstable Tesla Coil, Spellsword's Crest, Rogue's Crest, Sea Snail Venom, Cursed Pendant, Eye of the Illusionist, Metal Band, Ichor Pendant, Brew of Immunity, Rabbit's Foot, Swiftness Rune, Wintry Charm, and Flying Fish Fin.
  • Astral Map now has a cooldown of 10 seconds, regardless of difficulty. Now favors the player's center rather than top-left position when teleporting and no longer allows players to teleport into spaces occupied by temple walls pre-Golem.
  • Adjusted the held visuals of all anime swords and allowed them to draw correctly when gravity is reversed.
  • Updated the descriptions of all anime swords.
  • Anime swords now require the player to have struck an enemy or land on the ground in order to be reused.
  • Updated Cornucop-ion NPC collision code and visuals slightly.
  • Minor changes to quest names and dialogue, i.e. Sanctuary quest names using the format Sanctuary - Name instead of Sanctuary: Name.
  • Zephyr Potion and Apostle's armor set bonus each now grant an additional jump which no longer interferes with existing jump method.
  • Added shockwaves that scale in speed with melee speed to various spears.
  • Made all Aurora Monoliths equippable to get a client-only aurora.
  • Adjusted how Fearsome Fork's pumpkins animate and move.
  • Updated boss checklist integration.
  • Updated Boss checklist portraits for Mystic Moon and Glade Wraith.
  • Added a Boss Checklist entry for Snow Monger.
  • Updated Frostbite use visuals.
  • Updated Coiled Blade explosions now deal 120% damage and have an increased radius and now creates an explosion every 5 swings instead of 6.
  • Updated Coiled Blade explosion visuals.
  • Accursed Blade bolts now scale with melee damage buffs and souls now begin to fade out toward the end of their lifetime, rather than throughout, to improve visibility.
  • Players now gain 33% more charge per Accursed Soul collected.
  • Updated Sluggy Throw and Lightning Throw visuals and gave them unique sound effects.
  • Locust Crook's small locusts now benefit from knockback modifiers.
  • Bismite Crystal Staff alternate function now deals double damage and creates an additional AOE at close range.
  • Updated Bismite Crystal Staff sentry AI and visuals.
  • Bismite Staff and Bismite Pike projectiles now have a 1/3 chance to debuff enemies rather than a 1/5 chance.
  • Living Briar trees now drop Elderbark.
  • Added glowmasks to some armor items.
  • Made Asteroid Debris NPCs immune to all debuffs
  • Disturbed Yuurei are no longer able to teleport great distances to reach the player.
  • Added unique map colors for Spirit Pylon tiles.
  • Added worldgen bar progression for the Ambient Objects step.
  • Tweaked Gastric Gusher visuals and feedback and now charges 67% faster.
  • Fired skulls no longer contribute to the "maximum skull count" when attempting to use Screaming Tome.
  • Tweaked visuals of Moon Jelly Wizard's lightning sweep attack and added sounds on tile collision.
  • Tweaked visuals and AI of Unstable Boltcaster arrows.
  • Tweaked visuals for Huskstalk Staff.
  • Tweaked visuals for Molten Core and Magmaspewer projectiles.
  • Umbra Staff, Whirltide, Caged Moonlight, Ring of Willpower, Seal of Torment, and Seraph's Strike alternate function now have use sounds.
  • Thorny and Thistle Crates now have a chance to drop Floran Ore and bars.
  • Updated Ancient Avian respawn code, now more consistent and fairer (and fancy!).
  • Updated Vinewrath Bane despawn code, now fades out over ~4 seconds before despawning instead of teleporting up and staying for a while.
  • Adjusted the spawn position for Ethereal Butterfly Staff.
  • Updated code for Bubble Mine's right click, synced death.
  • Sticky and Dirt Bomb variants are now affected by Long Fuse and Short Fuses.
  • Updated "Autoswing" tooltip to disappear when the auto reuse vanilla setting is true.
  • Engineering Rod's Tesla Turret now animates.
  • Flask of Gore's skull pickup now expires after 8 seconds.
  • Opal Frog is now stackable to 1.
  • Removed Fairy Whistle from Wooden Chest loot pool.
  • Raw Meat is now affected by surrounding lighting.

Buffs/Nerfs

  • Buffed Sluggy Throw damage from 13 to 25.
  • Buffed Lightning Throw damage from 12 to 18.
  • Buffed Screaming Tome damage from 16 to 20 and reduced use time from 35 to 30.
  • Buffed Huskstalk Staff damage from 11 to 16 and reduced reuse delay from 30 to 25.
  • Buffed Basking Shark damage from 8 to 14 and reduced reuse delay from 45 to 35.
  • Nerfed Bismite Crystal Staff alternate function cooldown from 3.5 seconds to 1.5 seconds.
  • Heavily nerfed slowing effects on bosses.
  • Nerfed Blizzard Bandit compound scaling (damage is now a flat 5 + mode boosts, instead of (NPC.damage * mode boosts / 3) * mode boosts)
  • Heavily nerfed all enemies spawned from frozen statues in the Ice biome.
  • Nerfed Funny Firework use time from 61 to 18.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed Bottomless Healing Potion doing nothing.
  • Fixed several chests being unaffected by smart cursor.
  • The majority of Spirit chests now use unique dusts rather than dirt dusts.
  • Prevented most player-placed Spirit chests from passively emitting sparkles.
  • Fixed a sheeting error in Reach Chest's tile sprite.
  • Fixed the majority of Spirit chests not appearing 2 pixels lower in their tile preview.
  • Fixed some Spirit custom chest breaking sounds playing globally.
  • Fixed Phantom Phoenix replacing minions when spawned.
  • Prevented Brilliant Harvester from being able to spawn bonus items only as long as it is held.
  • Fixed boss/event downed flags not being reset on world exit.
  • Fixed weird Moon Jelly Wizard drop chance issue.
  • Fixed Veil Glyph applying to "items" and instead applies to "weapons".
  • Fixed Terravolver's primary fire being able to inflict more than one debuff in a single hit.
  • Fixed Shadeblaster not adjusting its rotation correctly when firing.
  • Fixed hostile variants of Floating Pagoda NPCs not being considered when calculating whether spawns should be restricted.
  • Fixed Occultist despawning in multiplayer when its initial target is killed, rather than when all players are killed.
  • Passive variants of Pagoda NPCs are no longer considered "town critters" and despawn normally.
  • Fixed framing issues in Iokheira's held projectile sprites.
  • Fixed several banners using inconsistent names from their respective NPCs.
  • Fixed Morningtide, Primordial Pebble, and Spirit Hamaxe drawing offset glow masks.
  • Fixed Locust Crook minions attempting to spawn custom gores on servers.
  • Fixed Martian Saucer drops not working.
  • Fixed Soaring Scapula crash issue.
  • Fixed Bauble sometimes giving an error when the wearer is struck by an NPC.
  • Fixed Eldritch Cloak causing lag when flying too high above any solid surface.
  • Fixed Demon Tail incorrectly adjusting NPC spawn amounts when used.
  • Fixed formatting of some set bonus and buff descriptions.
  • Fixed body glowmasks being offset incorrectly in most cases.
  • Fixed leg and head glowmasks drawing behind their respective layers, effectively making them invisible.
  • Prevented leg glowmasks from drawing when the player is sitting.
  • Fixed vanity and functional armor glowmasks being able to draw simultaneously.
  • Fixed Spirit Spear's projectiles not working at all.
  • Fixed Seabreak Pearl always summoning The Tide regardless of conditions.

  • Fixed Spirit Grass spreading to normal dirt instead of Spirit Dirt.
  • Fixed Pesterfly Cane projectiles always facing left.
  • Fixed Noxious Targe and Sanguine Scutum receiving melee weapon prefixes.
  • Fixed Fairy Lights tile glowmasks not flipping when necessary.
  • Spirit Pylon tiles no longer create dirt dusts when destroyed.
  • Fixed Spirit Grass not converting into Spirit Dirt when struck.
  • Fixed missing tooltips for a bunch of [de]buffs.
  • Fixed compatibility with JereTheJuggler's Custom Generation.
  • Fixed Starplate Blaster being fireable through walls.
  • Fixed Moon Jelly Wizard's lightning sweep attack dealing damage independently from the visual indicator.
  • Fixed Fathomless Shrine mimics not counting coin values correctly when stealing from players.
