Lore

The Spirit Mod has several lore items scattered around to make the world feel just that tad more alive, and to give items, enemies, and areas more of a purpose. Guides, Journals, and Tales contain lots of text and can be scrolled through if long enough, while Notes bring up static images and text. Guides and Notes do provide some help in the early game by detailing various items the player can obtain, or biomes they can visit. Journals and Tales are almost entirely filled lore about the world.

This page simply catalogs these items. To see the full transcripts and find how to obtain them, see the individual pages. All of the authors are fictional.

The Beginner's Guide to Armor is a guide written by a previous adventurer, Knight-Crusader Aurelius, as a transcript of one of his informational speeches detailing starting gear. In this case, it's early-game Armor to use.

The Beginner's Guide to Weaponry is a guide that was written by a previous adventurer, Knight-Crusader Aurelius. It's a transcript of an informational speech given by Aurelius, detailing multiple useful early-game Weapons to use. He created the book after his previous one, The Beginner's Guide to Armor didn't sell so well, due to a misprint showing what he said immediately after the speech.

The Beginner's Guide to Accessories

The Beginner's Guide to Accessories is a guide that was written by a previous adventurer, (former) Knight-Crusader Aurelius. It's a transcript of an informational speech given by Aurelius, detailing multiple useful early-game Accessories to use. He describes that his title of Knight-Crusader was removed after the last two books that he published, due to the misprints in both.

An Alchemist's Observations is a guide that was written by an alchemist, Lena Ashwood. In the book, she goes into detail about three Potions that she discovered while experimenting with ingredients from all around the world.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels is a guide that was written by an explorer, Trev Irwin. They describe their experiences with three Foods that they found while on various adventures and misadventures throughout the world.

Dag Dinger

Dag Dinger was written by Explorer Trev Irwin. They describe the Moon Jelly Wizard through the eyes of a common adventurer, though it doesn't provide much useful information about the boss itself.

Fungal Pilferers

Fungal Pilferers was written by Doctor Charlie Maitake. They describe the Glowing Mushroom biome and its inhabitants, implying that they aren't very tough to defeat or outwit.

Is Lava Hot?

Is Lava Hot? was written by Field Researcher Ocano, though they definitely didn't write it themselves. They describe, in great detail, how they discovered that Lava is, indeed, hot.

Jellyfish in the Sky!

Jellyfish in the Sky! was written by Jonah the Knave. They describe the Jelly Deluge event through the eyes of a shady merchant who seems to not know anything about what they're talking about.

Notes on the Briar

Notes on the Briar was written by Field Researcher Laywatts. They describe the dangers of the Briar, detailing the carnivorous plant-based animals, as well as that they lost the Adventurer there and haven't seen him since.

Where Do Slimes Come From? was written by Sorcerer Galen Arcturus. They bring up several questions about the creatures, which start from fairly reasonable and end at the inane.

I'm Really Mad

I'm Really Mad is a note written by Polius Crassus that details an excerpt from a book of theirs, that was rejected by their editor. The tale mentions a hero named Yeremy who slowly transforms into a villain after watching necromancers destroy 6 villages.

The Gunslinger
