Runic armor is a craftable Hardmode armor set made from Ancient Runes and Ethereal Embers. It takes a total of 34 Ancient Runes and 12 Ethereal Embers to craft a full set.

It consists of a Runic Hood, Runic Plate and Runic Greaves.

• The Runic Hood provides 12 defense and 12% increased magic damage and 5% increased movement speed.
• The Runic Plate provides 14 defense and 8% increased magic critical chance.
• The Runic Greaves provides 9 defense, 10% reduced mana cost, and 10% increased magic damage.

A full set provides a total of 35 defense, 22% increased magic damage, 8% increased magic critical strike chance, 5% increased movement speed and 10% reduced mana cost. Its set bonus summons explosive flame runes that spawns randomly from the player that attack nearby enemies which explodes it and deals damage to them.
