Pestilent armor was a craftable Hardmode armor set crafted from Putrid Pieces. It took a total of 34 Putrid Pieces to craft a single full set, or 42 Putrid Pieces if you want to craft one of each headpiece.
It consisted of a Pestilent Platemail and Pestilent Leggings as well as two different headpieces: the Pestilent Visor and the Pestilent Guard. Note that only one of the headpieces may be equipped at once but all would trigger a set bonus with the body and legs.
- The Pestilent Visor provided 6 defense, 10% increased arrow damage, and 6% increased ranged critical strike chance.
- The Pestilent Guard provided 7 defense, 12% increased bullet damage, and 5% increased ranged critical strike chance.
- The Pestilent Platemail provided 9 defense, 5% increased ranged damage, 6% increased ranged critical strike chance, and 25% chance not to consume ammo.
- The Pestilent Leggings provided 8 defense, 5% increased ranged critical strike chance, and 9% increased movement speed.
A full set always provided a total of at least 23 defense, 5% increased critical damage, 11% increased ranged critical strike chance, 25% increased chance not to consume ammo, and 9% increased movement speed, in addition to any stats given by the particular headpiece. While wearing the Pestilent Visor its set bonus caused every 4th strike with a pestilent or ranged weapon to cause an explosion of cursed flames, dealing damage and inflicting the Blighted Flames debuff. While wearing the Pestilent Guard its set bonus granted the player the ability to leave behind a trail of cursed flames as they travel, which dealt damage and inflicted the Blighted Flames debuff.
