Arcane Codexes

Arcane Codexes, or simply codexes, are support summon weapons used to buff, debuff, or disrupt, players or enemies, by summoning zones in the targeted location. These zones vary from codex to codex visually and functionally, such as Arcane Codex- Healing Zone buffing life regeneration while the player is within it, or Arcane Codex- Low Gravity Zone reducing the overall gravity to space levels for all entities within it. All codexes vary in design and color yet have a set 9x9 area (four blocks in every direction from the targeted location) of effect, and are mostly transparent enough to see through. Their buffs and debuffs stay on the entity that was within their zone for a few seconds after they leave the zone. They are acquired by combining an Empty Arcane Codex with certain materials at a Work Bench. It is possible to acquire most of the codexes very early on, as they only require a book as a base material - which can be found in Dark Sepulchres or the Dungeon entrance.

Arcane Codexes are considered sentries, which means you can summon multiple zones at once, specifically up to four, as long as you have enough sentry slots. You can have any combination of four auras out, from four different ones to four of the same one at once. They disappear after some time, just like sentries do, with the exception of debuffs and disruptive zones that go away faster when enemies interact with them.

It is not possible to modify codexes, as they're not considered weapons, rather tools, like the Astral Map.

Types

There are currently 5 different codexes in the Spirit Mod, all of which are in Pre-Hardmode.
