The Darkfeather Mage is a Pre-Hardmode enemy that spawns on the surface either on the left or right thirds of the world. It is much more likely to spawn while the "The Manic Mage" quest is active. Only one can spawn at a time.

It can be detected with an Lifeform Analyzer.

Behavior

The Darkfeather Mage attacks the player with a random set of attacks and firing green bolts that explode on player or tile collision.

Attacks

  • Teleports 3 times above the player in attempt to deal contact damage.
  • Performs 3 slow bursts, while firing green bolts at the player.
  • Flies left or right above the player, while raining down green bolts.
  • Circles around twice and fires green bolts at the player.

  • The Bestiary icon.pngBestiary entry for the Darkfeather Mage: "Caww, caww! A large bird of prey who fancies themselves a mage. Whoever has been teaching these birds magic has left behind quite a mess."
