Caww, caww! A large bird of prey who fancies themselves a mage. Whoever has been teaching these birds magic has left behind quite a mess.

The Darkfeather Mage is a Pre-Hardmode enemy that spawns on the surface either on the left or right thirds of the world before the Eater of Worlds/Brain of Cthulhu has been defeated. It is much more likely to spawn while the quest "The Manic Mage" is active. Only one can spawn at a time.

It can be detected with an Lifeform Analyzer.

Attacks

  • Teleports three times above the player in attempt to deal damage.
  • Performs three slow bursts, while firing green bolts at them.
  • Flies left or right above the player, while raining down green bolts that explode upon player or tile contact.
  • Circles around twice and fires green bolts at them.

History

  • 1.4.3.1: Can now spawn before the Evil Boss has been defeated.
  • 1.4.3: Now tied to the quest "The Manic Mage".
