Astral Amalgam
The Astral Amalgam is a Pre-Hardmode enemy that spawns in the Asteroid Field. It behaves similar to a Cursed Skull, flying towards the player while occasionally dashing at them to deal contact damage. It is also surrounded with 3 glowing orbs that revolve around itself at all times. The orbs function as a shield barrier for the enemy and these orbs can be hit with certain ranged attacks. When an orb takes a certain amount of hits, the orb will burst into 3 smaller glowing orbs which are fired directly at the player as projectiles to deal damage and orbs regenerate passively after some time. It can only have 3 shield orbs active at a time and the shields will disappear if the enemy despawns or dies.
Like Shockhoppers, Astral Amalgams cannot spawn while the player is standing in front of player-placed walls.
Notes
- The shields cannot be hit with certain melee attacks such as broadsword swings.
