The Ghast is a Pre-Hardmode enemy that spawns in the Dungeon. It follows the player while passing through tiles in a similar manner to Wraiths. Every 4 seconds, it will attempt to summon a spectre clone of itself and up to 3 clones can exist at a time. The clones behave similar to the Ghast but are much faster and have weaker stats.
