The Briarthorn Slime is a Pre-Hardmode slime that spawns in The Briar during the day. Like a typical slime, it hops towards its target to deal contact damage. Upon contact, it has a chance to inflict the Poisoned debuff. It has an ability to reduce its size the less health it has, its size decreases for each 20% health lost for the maximum of 80% reduced size.

• The Bestiary entry for the Briarthorn Slime: "Due to the perpetual rainfall in the Briar, these slimes are composed of 90% water. As a result, they often leak and lose volume when struck."
